Cleanses and detoxes..... what drink is best?

Updated: Aug 17

A health drink

I get asked a great many questions from nutrition to health conditions, and one question that crops up regularly is for advice on what detox drinks are the best?

A lot of the work I do is the promotion of education to deliver the correct advice with consistency. Cleanses and detoxes..... what drink is best to clean and detoxify your body?

The bottom line is this. Drinking "special drinks" cannot cleanse the body. The body just doesn't work like that..... as that is what your organs such as the liver and kidneys are for. They are constantly working to rid the body of "toxins" by processing and filtering everything you put into your body.

Part of the confusion that arises, is that many of these "detox" drinks can contain naturally healthy products..... in itself there is nothing detrimental with that. There may be nothing harmful in those drinks but they cannot "cleanse or detox" you.

The idea that you can actually buy a drink to do this job..... is almost comical if it wasn't for the greater problem of mis-information and pure lack of education on how the body basically functions.

The human body is a finely tuned "machine" when it works right and given an easy time assisting the bodily functions. Other words, if you want to be healthy then you must live healthy. It is unrealistic and false to imagine that a detox drink or several detox drinks can detox the body to make up for all the sins of consumption.

The body deals with "cleansing and filtering" in its own way and at its own pace. That is how the body works. The more a person understands about the body the more logical things become and dispelling myths in the process.

So..... you want to go on a cleanse? It doesn't exit.

What can you do then to clean up your act? Common sense has to be applied and it makes total logic in relation to how they body works.

Support the way the body naturally functions. Your liver and kidneys are doing a job. They are working hard every second to handle everything you place into your body. How can you support the body? ⬇️

A BALANCED DIET

Many people get the idea of a detox because they have eaten or drunk unhealthily over a period of time. In essence, there are no quick fixes, but you can make a start by being mindful of what you consume. This means the bodies filtering systems are supported by not having to deal with so much "junk" and can process those vital nutrients.

REGULAR EXERCISE

Exercising regularly assists the body in many ways, from improved cardiovascular health to functionally improving and moving the body more efficiently. During exercise, the cardiovascular system becomes more efficient and pumps oxygenated blood to the body carrying vital nutrients.

PROPER HYDRATION

Staying hydrated is one of the best things you can do for overall health. Being well hydrated assists the bodies functions including the digestive processes, and general well being. Considering the body is largely made up of water, being hydrated makes sense.

So, what is the take home message? Take small steps now to improve health longer term. Create those healthy habits and don't try to look for those quick fixes or products to cleanse the body. That just isn't how the body works!
